Father and Son: R.A. Jodrey and John J. Jodrey

Company

CKF was founded by R.A. Jodrey, a man with true entrepreneurial vision and courage. In the summer of 1933, during the worst of the Great Depression years, he established Canadian Keyes Fibre Company Limited (re-named CKF Inc. in 1982). The Company began with a single plant in Hantsport, Nova Scotia - manufacturing pie plates and cake circles for bakeries.

After World War II, the economic boom and rising popularity of backyard barbecuing created exciting new opportunities for CKF Inc. Jodrey jumped on the trend and began to produce disposable picnic and dining ware.

The Company has continued to flourish ever since.

Canadian Owned

CKF Inc. is a Canadian family-owned company. Roy A. Jodrey established Canadian Keyes Fibre back in 1933. Since its inception, the company has enjoyed virtually uninterrupted growth.

Three generations of Jodreys have had leading roles in CKF’s success. R.A. Jodrey was actively involved in the company until his death in 1973. He was succeeded by his son John J. Jodrey who served as Chairman and C.E.O. until 1989. Leadership then passed to the third generation when John’s son, Bruce J. Jodrey, stepped in as Chairman and CEO.
