Hawaiin Luau

A luau is a feast of food that generally celebrates weddings and other important events in Hawaii. When guests arrive at your luau, greet them with colourful garlands and a kiss as they enter a majestically lit yard.

A pit for the traditional pig roast adds a magnificent touch (that’s if you plan on building one) but an outdoor fireplace provides coziness as well.

Entertain friends with beach party music or traditional Hawaiian sounds. Definitely incorporate coconuts and pineapples in your décor and garnish cocktails with little paper parasols. Set tables with tropical design tablecloths and napkins and scatter seashells. Have raffia grass skirts for anyone willing to hula dance and organize a limbo contest with a prize awaiting the winner.

Set up oil torches and sand pits around the yard for that warm beach feeling. Now enjoy Hawaii in the comfort of your own backyard.

 

Bridal Showers

Planning a themed bridal shower is truly a fun experience and one the bride-to-be will not soon forget. Try a Wine Tasting theme and start by sending invitations a month in advance designed like wine labels. Include all the necessary information, especially for everyone to bring a bottle of their favourite wine. You might ask them to also contribute some information about their wine’s region, and perhaps some recipes for local cuisine. These can be pasted into a keepsake scrapbook for the bride and groom.

On the day of the shower, serve fruit, cheese and crackers for appetizers. You can have it catered or turn it into a pot-luck. For dessert, serve cake, heart-shaped lemon squares and strawberries covered in chocolate.

When the bride is unwrapping gifts, take the bow of each gift and staple it on top of a Royal Chinet plate. By the end of the gifts session, you have a base for a bonnet or bouquet made of bows for the bride to remember the day.
